GOOD DESIGN has the power of altering how customers feel about your brand in seconds. Design is an art form, and staying memorable means being original, yet relatable, simple, yet emotive.

DESIGN POOL IS A SMALL AND TALENTED COLLECTIVE OF CREATORS.

From art directors to photographers, UI designers to coders, strategists to animators, we unify experts from a vetted network of experienced professionals to create custom teams depending on client and project needs.

Our inspiration comes from exploring the interdependence and overlap of existing creative disciplines, visual cultures, concepts, styles and experiences. This makes our solutions adaptable, resilient and relatable, while still retaining originality and punch.

Our designers have worked with Fortune 500 brands and we have countless years of experience between us, but what makes us unique is that we’re multidisciplinarians that understand the interconnected nature of our industries. Our lean and smart teams are the secret behind providing quality services with an eye on the big picture, without the usual big agency markup.

The

FOUNDER

Founder and Creative Director Lana Matsuyama established Design Pool by combining her passion for design, extensive experience in the creative industry and a mission of bringing together talented and versatile people around the world to collaboratively transform brands.

A true advocate of interdisciplinary work, Lana studied the links between Psychology, Design and Advertising at New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study where she graduated with high honors.

Her experience is varied, and includes leading the creative strategy for the relaunch of the first online art auction portal as a user interface designer at the world’s most trusted online database for fine art and design auction results, headquartered in New York and Berlin. She also gained valuable New York agency experience working with an award-winning interactive marketing firm as a designer and creative strategist, where she played a key role in winning accounts with some of the nation’s biggest companies.

After her time in New York, Lana took the plunge and embarked on a journey that took her to 50 countries across six continents. During her time abroad, she founded Design Pool. She was remote-working and collaborating over oceans and timezones before it was normalized, which is why she’s an expert at the lifestyle and processes to make long-distance work.

She now lives between London and New York and travels often to meet with clients and work on projects around the world.
